A Kitchen Fit For A Cowshed
Whilst I write this, I am in the middle of painting some rooms in our own house and as crazy as it may seem, I have gone all colours including a very very VERY dark blue!
Cowshed being an old villa with beautiful window light, but tall ceilings and a wrap around verandah, it can easily cause the natural light to get lost and rooms to seem darker than they are.

Pinterest; I have spent years of my life (exaggeration 1), I’m sure, pinning the images on Pinterest. I have a million different boards (exaggeration 2) and the majority of them are home and interior related! In fact, I think Pinterest has been teaching me how to prep myself for this renovation without realising it.
Look At Them Floorboards Love.
My parents were over from England for a couple of months (their annual get-away-from-winter holibobs) and little did they know that their jet lag was going to be combatted by some serious painting!
Before We Did Anything
First things first, to rip up the carpet and check out those floorboards...
We hit the jackpot here. SO lucky that there was only a tiny section of floor that was not the original rimu floorboards.
The love affair with Cowshed 488 started many years before we got the keys...From the day that I moved to the West Coast, I spent many a day admiring this beautiful villa DYING to get my hands on it! Nearly five years later we were exchanging keys and had access to the house...
